We Do The Work, And You Get Paid!
How does OBITCO’s eBay Electronic Consignment (EEC) work?
Our EEC program is a simple, easy and fast way to sell your electronic devices on eBay. OBITCO sells your electronic devices on your behalf, and you earn up to 75% of the final sale price. Our process is extremely easy:
- Contact OBITCO to schedule an EEC device pickup.
- We’ll send an OBITCO technician to your home or business to review, inventory and pickup all eligible devices that you want to sell.
- OBITCO will photograph, document and list your electronic device(s) on eBay.
- When your item sells, OBITCO will send you payment within 5 business days.
What types of electronic devices does OBITCO accept for the EEC program?
Smartphones, tablets, laptops, desktops, video game consoles, cameras, MP3 players, special peripherals, electronic toys and more!
Who pays the shipping costs?
Here’s the best part – when using OBITCO, we cover all the shipping costs! When you consign your electronic devices through us, you can rest assured that we’ll take care of your items from start to finish. Your consignment includes us packaging, insuring and shipping all electronic devices to its new home. We also take care of any customer questions, comments and concerns.
What types of listings are available?
We offer three different options – Straight Auction, Reserve Auction, or Straight Purchase.
A Straight Auction starts bidding at $25.00 for any device listed, and runs for 5 or 7 days per your request.
For example: You’re selling a MacBook Pro 2014 Model 13” Laptop. The listing starts at $25.00 on eBay, and runs for 5 days. At the end of a pre-selected 5 day auction period, your laptop sells for $720.00. We then invoice the buyer, and once paid, we package the item and ship it. A payment will then be made to you.
A Reserve Auction starts bidding at $25.00 for any device listed, and runs for 5 or 7 days per your request; however, has an added ‘Reserve Price’ set by you. Please note, Reserve auctions require a non-refundable $10 fee per device, payable at time of device pickup.
For example: You’re selling a MacBook Pro 2014 Model 13” Laptop. The listing starts at $25.00 on eBay, with a pre-selected reserve price of $800.00 and runs for 5 days. At the end of a pre-selected 5 day auction period, the final auction price is $720.00. Your item is not considered sold. At this point, OBITCO will contact you to confirm if you want to relist the item at the same, or lower reserve price, or if you want to receive the device back.
A Straight Purchase places a ‘Buy It Now’ listing on eBay, and will run for up to 60 days. OBITCO will research how similar devices sold on eBay within the last 90 days, and price your device based on this research. If your device doesn’t sell, OBITCO will reduce the price and relist it again.
For example: You’re selling a MacBook Pro 2014 Model 13” Laptop. The minimum you’ll sell the item for is $600.00. OBITCO’s market research shows that current fair market pricing is $899.00. We then list your device at $899.00 for up to 60 days. If your item does not sell during the time period, we will relist it again at a lower price (generally 10%-20% lower, based on current market pricing), but not below your minimum sales price. If your item does not sell after two 60-day cycles, OBITCO will contact you to confirm if you want to relist the item at a price lower than your minimum sales price, or if you want to receive your device back.
Can I track the sale of my devices?
Absolutely! Once OBITCO lists your devices, we’ll send you a confirmation e-mail with a link to your listings.
Can I change details of my device’s listing, or what type of sales option after an item is listed?
Unfortunately, OBITCO cannot change a listing once it is published on eBay. As long as no bids or purchases have been completed on your device’s listing, you can contact OBITCO to cancel the listing and have your device returned to you.
When do I get paid?
You’ll be paid for each device after it sells. Payments are sent within 5 business days after the buyer has paid for your item. You have the option of receiving payment through PayPal or Check.
What are the consignment fees for OBITCO’s EEC service?
We charge a percentage of your device’s final selling price:
|Final Sale Price||You Earn|
|$250.00 – $499.99||65%|
|$100.00 – $249.99||55%|
What condition should my electronic devices be in?
OBITCO recommends devices be in excellent, new or like-new condition for maximum value, but we accept good and fair conditioned items as well. All devices must be in working condition. We also recommend that you supply any accessories (i.e. power cables, sync cables, etc.) with your devices to ensure maximum selling price.
What types of electronic devices does OBITCO not accept?
In general, OBITCO does not accept the following:
- Devices in poor condition (broken, non-functional, severely damaged).
- Devices worth less than $25.00.
- Media (DVDs, CDs, books)
- Items that cannot be verified or require a license or code (Operating Systems, Pre-Paid gaming cards, computer games, digital software, etc.)
- Used printers or monitors
How does OBITCO classify an item as “New”?
While we sell both new and used electronic devices, only items in factory-sealed original packaging will be considered to be “New”. Please note, we may open factory-sealed devices to confirm conditions of items prior to listing.
